Deb and I traveled to Banks Lake, which is located outside of Lakeland, Georgia early on this day; June 03, 2017, to capture the sunrise as it appeared. We had actually traveled to a Georgia State park located north of us about 40 miles hoping to capture a beautiful sunrise but once there found the park didn't open until 0700 (7 am) which would have been well after the sunrise had occurred. So we hightailed it to Banks Lake (a distance of about 25 miles of so) hoping to get there before the sunrise. However, sad to write we missed the grand show but did mange to catch some fairly good early photographs of the early morning sky or at least in our minds we did. Maybe many of you will agree. Now to those who may be thinking "why didn't you guys plan better or check the opening time at the first site". The answer is the first park used to open at 0600 hours - not 0700 but had been changed without our knowledge. Now we are wiser and will always check before each trip. Back to this image. Deb captured this image with her Canon 7D - Mark II camera + an 18 to 55mm wide angle lens. I processed it with her sitting beside me advising "do this & do that & so forth". We started with Photoshop CC and finally ended with Topaz to achieve the results you see. Those of you who normally view our art have seen we sign almost all of our art but decided not to sign this since we thought it would interfere with the tree reflections in the water if we did so.
